Revised Brand Identity

Since the 1960s, the issue of Native American and First Nations names and images being used by sports, cities, car manufacturers as mascots has been the subject of increasing public controversy in the United States. In 2025, Pontiac Country Club retired the symbol of the city of Pontiac (an Indian head) and replaced with with a silhouette of the Lloyd Syron, a Michigan State Amateur Champion, as its brand identity.
