Pontiac Country Club
A business we’ve served for over 20 years!
A Proud History
The Pontiac Country Club has been a fixture in their community for 80+ years!
The club’s roots date back to the 1940s, when Frank and Elizabeth Syron—armed with determination and a love for golf—purchased a bankrupt course west of Pontiac and renamed it Pontiac Country Club. They brought in world-class players for exhibitions and the fairways began to fill, supported by the rising talent of the second generation — Lloyd Syron, who won the 1957 Michigan Amateur. In 1969, the “Syron 54 Hole Play Tournament,” became a major Michigan golf tradition, further growing the business. Lloyd and his brother, Frank, continued to run the business.
In 1992, Lloyd was inducted into the MPGA Golf Hall of Fame. In 2000 he was named “Businessman of the Year,” and in 2004 he received special honors from Michigan’s golf community for his contributions to junior golf before later being inducted into the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame.
Today, the third generation of Syrons continues the legacy, maintaining the same commitment to quality and community that has defined Pontiac Country Club for 80+ years.
Syron Power
Colleen Syron has been the brand and marketing partner for Pontiac Country Club since 1988. For 35+ years, she has stewarded the club’s visual identity and communications—translating a rich family history into a consistent, credible, and inviting brand experience.
Pontiac Country Club is a historic institution, but it is also a small, family-run business with limited marketing resources. The challenge has always been to maintain a professional, cohesive brand presence that honors the club’s heritage while keeping pace with the expectations of today’s golfers.
With no large marketing budget and limited internal resources, Pontiac Country Club needed a partner who could consistently deliver high-quality creative work, adapt quickly, and find solutions that maximized impact without unnecessary cost.
