Outspoken
Outspoken explores the ongoing silencing of women’s voices in America through bold color and confrontational imagery. Rendered in vivid pink and yellow, the poster features a woman marked with an X across her mouth, positioned against the backdrop of the American flag — a symbol of both patriotism and contradiction. The composition challenges viewers to consider who is allowed to speak, who is ignored, and how women’s rights and autonomy continue to be contested. Balancing protest imagery with graphic minimalism, Outspoken serves as both a political statement and a call for visibility, agency, and resistance.
Nebraska Appleseed hosts an annual Art + Justice curated poster exhibition. Social justice posters are commissioned from across the state and sold as a fundraiser.
Created for the Art + Justice curated poster exhibition and fundraiser, each screen-printed poster was produced in a limited edition of just 35 prints, making every piece a rare collectible. Printed on premium French Paper, all proceeds benefited Nebraska Appleseed, a nonprofit dedicated to building strong, inclusive, and engaged communities through legal advocacy, grassroots organizing, and social justice initiatives focused on issues including child welfare, immigration policy, affordable healthcare, racial equity, and poverty.
